The Town’s chart counts as “construction work” any physical work that needs a permit under Chapter 18, and running construction, drilling or demolition tools or equipment.1
Summer 2026 runs on temporary hours set by resolution, for areas outside Worth Avenue. On November 1 the winter hours return. Work in a road right-of-way can’t start before 9:00 a.m. unless its right-of-way permit says otherwise.12
In winter, no. All construction is prohibited on Saturdays from November 1 to April 30.1
In summer 2026, only quiet interior work, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A summer Saturday still rules out:
One winter exception: multi-family buildings south of Sloan’s Curve, not on Ibis Isle, can do quiet interior work on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The association board must approve it, with its letter on file at the Town.13
Beyond weekends, these are the remaining dates on the Town’s 2026 holiday list.1

Holiday shutdown
The holiday shutdown is the rule every winter: no construction at all from December 24 through January 1, or on the days before and after Thanksgiving. If another list disagrees, go by the chart.14
Two rules hold for the whole season.
The Town Code bans these in season:5
The Town Council can grant exceptions. Town essential services and emergency work are exempt.5
Under Ordinance No. 15-2026, demolition of structures is prohibited from November 1 through April 30, Good Friday included, and the Town issues no demolition permits. Interior demolition is allowed if the demolition and debris removal take three days or less.6
For 2026, demolition applications had to be in EPL and paid by October 1. Every demolition must be finished, razed and cleared by October 31, 2026. The online Town Code still shows the old season, so go by the Town’s demolition notice.6
In the Worth Avenue (C-WA) district, construction is prohibited from November 1 through April 30. From May 1 to October 31, weekday work runs 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays are quiet interior work only.1
Right-of-way parking permits on Worth Avenue are limited to two vehicles, and only for loading, unloading and essential construction activity.7
Every worker’s and visitor’s vehicle parks on the construction site, from permit issuance to certificate of occupancy. If the site can’t hold them, the contractor carpools or applies for up to three right-of-way parking permits.79
Parking, noise and hours violations each count as a strike. Three strikes at one site bring a stop work order that only the Town Council can lift. More on that in the permits guide.79
A right-of-way request for the season (November 1 to April 30) has to explain why the work can’t wait, and propose a 2-hour working window between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.8
An owner can apply to waive the working hours under Town Code 42-199. The request must reach the Town at least 30 days before the period requested, and the waiver fee is 1% of the value of the remaining work.10
The rules change by ordinance and resolution, and the online Town Code runs behind the Town’s chart. Check the Town’s construction hours chart at the start of each season.1
